Andrea's First Flight on an Airplane

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Andrea who really liked animals. Her quote is: “I think that people should kill less animals. Animals are cute, and when one of them gets killed, that’s a sad scene.”

One day, Andrea and her parents were going on a trip to Hawaii.

“How will we get there?” asked Andrea.

“We will fly there.” said Mamma.

“In school I learned that humans can’t fly, and I’m a human, right?” asked Andrea.

“Yes, we are all humans,” said Mamma, “but there are ways we can fly. One way is to fly on an airplane. Your school says that we can’t fly like birds.”

“What is an airplane?” asked Andrea.

“An airplane is a vehicle that flies.” said Mamma.

“Why don’t you start packing up?” asked Daddy.

“Okay.” said Andrea as she packed all her stuff.

Andrea packed clothes, desserts, and even her favorite toys. Her bag was full.

“Now we gotta check the weight.” said Daddy.

Andrea checked the bag.

“Hmmm, looks like it is too heavy.” said Daddy.

Andrea went to her room to take out a toy. Then, she checked the bag again. It was just right!

Andrea and her family drove to the airport.

Their line was the longest ever!

“Do we have to wait in this line?” asked Andrea.

“Yes.” said Mamma.

The line started to move quicker.

“I’m worried.” said Daddy, “I’m worried that we are going to miss our flight.”

“The line is moving quickly,” said Mamma, “It is highly unlikely that we are going to miss our flight.”

After they went through baggage drop-off, security, and passport control, they headed for their gate.

“Which is our gate?” asked Andrea.

“A14.” said Daddy.

Andrea sprinted to the gate A14.

“No, don’t run, you will hit somebody or something.” said Daddy.

“Okay.” said Andrea as she slowed down.

And there was gate A14, and they were on time!

“Attention all passengers, flying to Hawaii,” announced the gate manager, “Flight A14 is delayed because of a terrible thunderstorm, and you will have to wait an extra hour. Don’t worry, it will go by fast.”

“You’ve got to be kidding me!” said Daddy.

“Noooo!” said Andrea.

“Not another flight delay,” said Mamma, “I hope this flight doesn’t end up being canceled!”

An hour later, Andrea and her family boarded the plane.

“Do I get a seat by the window?” asked Andrea.

“You have an A seat, so that means yes.” said Mamma.

“Yaaaayyyy!” said Andrea, as she sat by the window.

“Wow!” said Andrea, “This view is beautiful!”

When all the passengers, pilots, and flight attendants boarded the plane, the plane started to taxi to the runway, and the flight attendants showed emergency procedures in case the airplane crashes.

Pretty soon, the plane was on the runway. It started to accelerate. After a few seconds, the plane was airborne! Whoosh, up, up, and away they all went, and the airplane was at 30,000 feet!

When the plane was cruising, Andrea enjoyed looking out the window, and it put her to sleep.

After she woke up, there was only 30 minutes before the plane started descending.

Andrea picked up a magazine, and opened it. The page had chickens getting killed on it! Andrea’s eye’s filled with tears. It’s not the chickens getting killed, but it is both missing her chickens, and the poor hens getting killed in the magazine.

After Andrea put the magazine, the plane began to descend, just as the pilots said.

The pilot lowered the flaps, and the airplane was below the clouds. The pilot then put the landing gear down.

After a few minutes, the plane touched the ground.

“Andrea, it is time to get off the plane!” said Daddy.

“No, I want to see my chickens!” argued Andrea.

“Don’t worry, it’ll be fun!” said Daddy.

“Okay.” said Andrea.

Andrea and her family got their luggage, and waited for the taxi. Pretty soon, the taxi came. Everybody got on, and they all headed to the hotel.

Andrea checked out their room, and couldn’t help herself get out of the balcony, and they all lived happily ever after.
